Fountains

Set your spiritual sanctuary for meditation

Indoor fountains help set a calming, natural tone for yoga meditation, Zen and Tai Chi. According to Feng Shui philosophy, water fountains represent the flow of life and the constant changes that take place in our everyday lives.

If you are a student of meditation, you might want to place a fountain in your meditation area to enhance your creative process. Fountains are also a wonderful stress reliever. By connecting them with natural elements such as water, plants and stones, you rejuvenate your spirit with the inspiring landscape.

Adding fountains to your spiritual sanctuary makes the sacred area seem more delicate and alive. Water symbolizes creative power and new life. It also represents perceptive wisdom, the fertility of spiritual life and the renovator of earthly life. Water is commonly associated with the moon and the feminine realm.

A fountain should be used in the center of a group for sitting meditation. They can be the concentration point of an environmental healing meditation session, and it can invoke the imagination of participants as they envision themselves beside a forest stream or swimming under a clear waterfall. While in meditation, your water chakra - which lies between the pubic region and the navel - reproduces mentally through imagination and memory.

A meditation fountain can be a decorative centerpiece. It is believed that different kinds of fountains harbor different kinds of “magic.” A wind chime fountain adds the tinkling sounds of water to an atmosphere; whereas a floating candle, an underwater light or mirror placed in a fountain will brighten your surroundings. A fountain with green plants symbolizes growth and harmony; while yellow, brown, and orange plants harmonize a room with the earth.
